The Tasting Room
St. Augustine
" sweet treats wedding..."

Historic downtown St. Augustine
Angela Wilcox and Ivan de Quesada come from very
different backgrounds (Angela, Korean and Ivan, Cuban)
and it was important to bring their families’ traditions into
their March 13, 2010 wedding. During their ceremony at
The Tasting Room in St. Augustine, Ivan presented Angela’s
mother with two wooden geese called “kirogi” to symbolize
the groom’s fidelity to the bride and her family.

The Tasting Room, a wine and tapas restaurant, closes it’s
doors to the public for their wedding events giving a couple
and their guests an intimate dining experience with
course after course of Spanish tapas. Ivan and Angela have
an affinity for fine wine and a love for good food, making
the venue a perfect fit.

The restaurant’s layout also made for an ideal location for
the photo booth which provided many impromptu and
hilarious pictures.
The pair met in 2006 while Angela was walking her dog,
Mochi. “We were friends from that point,” Angela said. “I had
a crush on him from that day and brought him weekly baked
sweets, even a homemade chocolate cake on his birthday.
I didn't know he hated chocolate
he never showed it!” They began
dating the following spring.
Angela, a lover of the homemade
crafts, found an artist to make felt
doll bride and grooms as well as
life-like replicas of Mochi and their
other dog Ein. She had planned to
use them as cake toppers but they
turned out a bit bigger than
expected so they adorned the head
table.
